Lacey had her leg amputated above the knee due to a rare soft tissue tumor in her knee at the age of nine. She started track & field in 2012 due to a push from her father, T.J, who was also an olympic athlete. Henderson is a 2016 Rio Paralympian, a 7-time long jump champion, and a 2019 Para Pan American silver medalis
